Intermediate Lighting Designer

London Office

We are seeking an Intermediate Lighting Designer to join our expanding team.

About the Role:

As an Intermediate Lighting Designer, you will work with greater independence, collaborating closely with Project Managers and Team Leaders, supporting Junior Designers, and interacting with external project teams. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, involved at various stages from concept through to completion.

Candidate Requirements:

Must have the legal right to live and work in the UK (we cannot provide visa sponsorship).

Submission of all necessary documents to support work authorization.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare lighting design packages (concept, schematic, detailed design)
  • Produce layouts and calculations in Dialux Evo, referencing lighting codes and product knowledge
  • Keep up-to-date with current technology, luminaries, controls, and manufacturers
  • Import context into Dialux from Revit, Rhino, and other 3D software; read architect's packages in 3D
  • Create visualizations and renderings using Photoshop
  • Select light fixtures and write luminaire schedules
  • Design lighting details and specifications
  • Coordinate with clients and other consultants internally and externally
  • Support project delivery across all project stages
  • Your Skills & Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar independent lighting consultancy
  • BA or MA in Lighting Design or Architecture
  • Proficiency in 3D software: Rhino, SketchUp, Revit
  • Advanced experience with Dialux Evo and 3D modeling integration
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design and image editing
  • Familiar with digital sketching tools (graphic tablets, sketching software such as Sketchbook Pro, Adobe Fresco)
  • Strong ability to read architectural, structural, and electrical drawings with minimal supervision
  • Good understanding of all construction phases and lighting codes
  • Passion for innovative lighting design and product knowledge
