An opportunity has arisen for a laboratory technician to join our fast growing team. Particle Technology Ltd is one of the world leaders in cleanliness testing with UKAS accreditation to 17025 and ISO 9001. Our company focuses on working safely, ethically and having excellent attention to detail. Experience in a similar laboratory based role is preferred but not essential for the correct candidate.

Cleanliness testing is a laboratory test in the engineering industry measuring how clean components are. Clean components extend the lifespan and reduce the failure of parts.

Key Duties Include:

  • Supporting laboratory activities as requried.
  • General housekeeping activies as required.
  • Testing in a laboratory environment to UKAS 17025 accredited test methods based on ISO 16232 automotive standard.
  • Cleanliness testing of automotive, aerospace and engine components.
  • Operating rinsing equipment, filtering test fluid and generating test membranes.
  • Counting particles on test membranes using advanced microscopy lighting techniques.
  • Photographing, correctly sizing particles and categorising particle type.
  • Weighing membranes.
  • Populating test reports using Excel and populating formula and calculations.
  • Using various other test instruments on site.
  • Ability to work on your own or as part of team. At times you will provide assistance to other areas of the company as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous Laboratory work experience is preferable but not essential for the right candidate .
  • A Level Science or Maths are the preferred minimum. These skills are essential.
  • Good IT Skills. A working knowledge of Excel is essential as a minimum.
  • The role will involve manual handling and some lifting.
  • Own transport preferred.
