working in a 2:1 team
• Monday to Friday: 16:00–08:00 (1 waking night + 1 sleep-in)
• Saturday and Sunday: 24-hour shifts
School holidays (13 weeks): 168 hours per week across a 2:1 team
• 24-hour cover across Monday–Sunday
You will be working as part of a consistent 2:1 staff team. Rotas planned in advance. Overtime available.
About the Role:
Provide high-level care and supervision for a 4-year-old boy with:
- Global Developmental Delay
- Suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Non-verbal communication
- High sensory and oral-seeking behaviours
- High risk of falls and head-banging
- Needs full support with personal care, feeding, sleep routines
- Challenging behaviours linked to dysregulation
Support includes:
- Personal care including continence and hygiene
- Feeding support
- Behaviour regulation and safe intervention
- Maintaining a safe environment at all times
- Implementing routines from school and health professionals
- Accurate recording and safeguarding escalation when needed
Requirements:
- Experience with learning disabilities, ASD, or complex behaviours
- Confident with personal care and manual handling
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Understanding of non-verbal communication methods
- Enhanced DBS required
- Training in medication, safeguarding, and PBS desirable
- Full commitment to hygiene and infection control
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £18.00-£20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 64 per week
