About the Role

We are looking for flexible and reliable Residential Support Workers to join our Bank Staff Team across Torfaen, Monmouthshire and Rhondda Cynon Taff.

This is a zero-hours position, ideal for individuals who can work a variety of shifts — including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays — often at short notice.

You'll work alongside the Senior Shift Leaders and Managers to support young people in our care, helping them build life skills, resilience and independence while maintaining professional boundaries at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, caring, and supportive environment for young people.
  • Assist with day-to-day routines, activities, and care plans.
  • Support and participate in educational, recreational and leisure activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour and act as a consistent role model.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records in line with company policies.
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
  • Carry out domestic duties, including cooking and general household tasks.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) – desirable, or willingness to work towards it.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, often at short notice.
  • Not engaged in other full-time employment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Additional Information

  • All roles are subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
  • Registration with Social Care Wales is required within six months of employment.
