Our Team:
The post forms an integral part of the Licensing Team which is responsible for the Councils licensing functions. The Licensing Enforcement Officer will be responsible for the licensing enforcement service in relation to the Councils licensing responsibilities including the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Street Trading, Scrap Metal and Sex Entertainment Licences.
You will be part of a small team which consists of the Licensing Manager, a Taxi Enforcement Officer, a Licensing Officer and two Solicitors.

The post is office based Monday to Friday, Municipal Buildings, Kingsway, Widnes
Hours: 37 per week

Your Contributions:
The ideal candidate will have experience working within a local authority licensing department and a strong understanding of current licensing legislation, including the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Street Trading, Scrap Metal and Sex Entertainment Licences.They will demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines. The candidate should have the ability to apply legal knowledge to resolve problems and willingness to lead and undertake inspections, investigations and operations. Experience of carrying out investigations and a knowledge of PACE and RIPA Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to engage confidently and courteously with all stakeholders, partner agencies and relevant trade, with the ability to represent he Council at various meetings related to licensing.
