Job Description
This role will be responsible for providing high level technical support to the business, ensuring effective resolution of complex IT issues.

They will be expected to plan, design and implement the company's software, hardware and infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, network and cloud environments.

This role will act as system administrator and will be responsible for the maintenance of physical and virtual servers as well as cloud, PaaS and SaaS solutions. Including installation, configuration and troubleshooting.

The role will also be responsible for the implementation management of security measures, patching and controls in line with industry best practices to protect company data. Alongside the established IT Security team.

Act as technical lead on key business projects, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and alignment with strategic objectives. Oversee technical planning, risk mitigation, and quality assurance.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Infrastructure ideally in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services, such as Entra ID, Defender 365, Sentinel, Intune, Azure networking and Azure storage solutions
  • Anti Virus/EDR solutions
  • Proficient in virtualization technologies, such as Azure Virtual Machines, VMWare/Hyper-V
  • Solid understanding of IAM concepts, such as PIM, SCIM, SSO conditional access and PAM
  • Windows OS – Windows 11, Windows Server, Managing Active Directory, Group Policy
  • Strong knowledge of backup solutions, Azure backup, 365 backups, Veeam
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts. Next Gen firewall configuration and maintenance in line with industry best practice
  • Understanding of IPsec, Encryption standards
  • Zero trust networking standards
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Familiarity with maintaining and implementing security frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills
  • Experience with Change management, Problem management and major incident management practices.
  • First hand experiencing implementing and maintaining mail and web filters, (Mimecast, Z-Scaler, Proofpoint, Twingate)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in designing and implementing solutions with Disaster recovery in mind.
  • Passionate about IT, staying informed of current IT trends and technologies and a willingness to continually develop their skillset

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain, upgrade, and manage our software, hardware, and networks across our on prem and cloud estate.
  • Cyber security focus – ensuring that the role is performed in line with cyber security best practices. This may involve responding to incidents and regular security monitoring to identify and address vulnerabilities when they arise alongside the IT Security team
  • Develop and provide training to Support engineers to enhance their technical skills, both face to face and in documentation form.
  • Respond and manage major incidents, communicating efficiently and effectively across the business and collaborating with 3rd party support teams to assist in swift resolution of major incidents.
  • Work within IT Projects -provide technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all systems.
  • The job holder may be expected to work non-typical office hours, evenings and weekends. to support patching, software upgrades and system releases.
  • Work with key business stakeholders to identify and implement efficiencies and improvements in line with continuous improvement to assist the business in achieving their goals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, standards, and data protection laws.
