London, Greater London, United Kingdom Jobgether Full time £90,000 - £110,000 per year

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Community Director, LF Energy in Europe.

As Community Director, you will lead initiatives to grow and engage an open-source energy technology community across Europe. You will drive adoption of digital energy solutions by building relationships with system operators, regulators, and policymakers, translating technical capabilities into business value, and identifying regulatory pathways for contribution and deployment. This role combines strategic leadership, hands-on program execution, and public representation at industry events. You will oversee funded technical projects, organize workshops, facilitate stakeholder groups, and measure community growth through clear metrics. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will collaborate with global teams and act as a thought leader in open-source energy innovation. Frequent travel across Europe will allow you to connect directly with stakeholders and support regional adoption of transformative energy solutions.

Accountabilities

  • Lead European community engagement by building and nurturing relationships with TSOs, DSOs, regulators, and key stakeholders.
  • Organize and facilitate in-person and virtual workshops, training sessions, and events across Europe.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, panels, and industry events to promote open-source energy solutions.
  • Develop and launch educational programs to lower adoption barriers and train the next generation of energy system operators.
  • Drive policy and regulatory advocacy, identifying barriers to adoption and promoting supportive frameworks.
  • Oversee funded initiatives, ensuring technical quality, alignment with community goals, timely delivery, and transparency.
  • Facilitate consensus among diverse stakeholders in special interest groups and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Partner with marketing and communications teams to amplify successes, establish thought leadership, and report adoption metrics.
Requirements
  • Established network and track record of working with European TSOs, DSOs, regulators, or policymakers.
  • Strong ability to translate technical solutions into business value across diverse stakeholders.
  • Technical expertise in energy systems (grid operations, markets, power systems) and digital technologies (software, data platforms, automation).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to executive, regulatory, and technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to drive alignment and collective action across distributed teams and organizations.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to independently lead complex initiatives from concept to execution.
  • Collaborative, solution-oriented, and team-focused approach.
  • Comfortable with frequent travel (up to 30% across Europe) and occasional work outside standard business hours.
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages (French, German, Spanish, Italian) are a plus.
  • Preferred: experience in open-source communities, prior role in a European grid operator or regulatory organization.
Benefits
  • Significant opportunity to impact the clean energy transition across Europe.
  • Work with cutting-edge open-source energy technology and innovative industry leaders.
  • Flexible, remote-first work environment with a mission-driven, collaborative team.
  • Travel to major industry events and conferences across Europe.
  • Competitive compensation: €9,000 – €11,000 per month.
  • Exposure to global thought leadership and collaborative open-source ecosystems.
