On Call HGV Waste Water Operative

About the Role: 

This is a fantastic opportunity, to join a growing and established company: you will be working reactively across the North West attending emergency call out jobs for United Utilities, on either a JHL Recycler or a JHL CityFlex. A HGV class 2 is required, and experience of jetting is essential. Training can be provided to a successful candidate. 

This position requires candidates to be on call for shifts six days a week. Applicants will receive one paid rest day each week. The on-call shift is from 16:00 PM to 02:00 AM each day. During this time, successful applicants must be able to drive to the depot and collect the vehicle.

Applicants will be paid 70 hours per week (inclusive of one paid rest day) 

Location: Bamber Bridge, Preston.

Salary: Base up to £49,722 per annum (dependent on experience) OTE of £50,000+ with call outs

Responsibilities – but not limited to: 

• Investigating any works that need to be conducted.
• Assess any issues and put a resolution in place.
• Use of Jetting machinery to conduct works to ensure safety of public.
• Covering works across the United Utilities network across the North West
• Attending to customers, informing them of works to be carried out and answering any concerns as well as timescales
• Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
• Carry out all aspects of high pressure water jetting
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
• Carry out CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
• Competent in using an electronic device - laptop / tablet for data entry purposes
• Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of high-pressure water jetting equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.

Full training will be given in the following: Jetting/SLG/First Aid/Manual Handling/Confined Spaces.

Experience and qualifications required for the role: 

• Previous experience working within a reactive role is desirable but not essential.
• Drainage knowledge (not essential)
• Class 2 HGV Licence.
• No more than 6 points on licence.
  
• Able to use machinery in compliance with safety standards.
• Training will be provided.
