Senior Associate – Private Client | Top-Tier Succession & Tax Team
Salary: £65,000-£85,000
Location: Central London

Are you an ambitious Private Client Solicitor ready to elevate your career within a prestigious, top-ranked firm? Our client, a highly respected national law firm with a Tier 2 Legal 500 ranking for Private Client work, is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join their established Succession & Tax team in Central London.
This is a rare opportunity to work on high-value, technically complex matters whilst developing your expertise in lifetime planning and estate administration. You'll benefit from the support of dedicated Trust and Tax specialists, allowing you to focus on sophisticated advisory work and relationship building with high-net-worth clients across the Thames Valley region.
The Role
As a Senior Associate in Private Client, you'll take ownership of a varied caseload of succession planning and estate administration matters, working with a high degree of autonomy whilst being supported by an experienced team.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Advisory & Lifetime Planning:
- Drafting complex Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney for high-net-worth individuals
- Providing sophisticated estate planning advice covering Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, and Income Tax implications
- Creating and advising on lifetime trusts and succession structures
- Preparing deeds of variation, deeds of gift, and deeds of family arrangement
- Obtaining Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
- Managing the full administration of estates, including complex matters involving foreign domicile, re-sealing of grants, and intestate estates
- Liaising with the firm's dedicated Trust Administration team on compliance and administrative aspects
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with high-net-worth clients and professional introducers
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members
- Contributing to the growth and reputation of the Private Client practice
Essential Requirements:
- 4-7 years PQE in Private Client law with a strong UK practice background
- Proven track record of managing independent caseloads in wills, probate, and estate administration
- Strong technical competence in lifetime planning, estate administration, and tax implications
- Excellent client care skills with experience managing high-net-worth client relationships
- Demonstrable experience supervising junior colleagues and delegating effectively
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- STEP qualification (or commitment to obtaining it with firm support)
- Experience with foreign domicile estates and cross-border matters
- Established relationships with professional introducers (IFAs, accountants, wealth managers)
- Experience working within a top-tier or national law firm
Competitive Salary: £65,000-£85,000 (dependent on experience)
