The Site Manager will lead the delivery of TCES civil and rail projects on-site, ensuring that works are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Acting as the primary point of contact for all site operations, the Site Manager will coordinate labour, materials, and subcontractors to achieve project milestones on time and within budget. This role demands strong leadership, technical competence, and a proactive approach to safety, planning, and communication.

Team Management & Leadership
· Lead, motivate, and support site teams including engineers, supervisors, and operatives.
· Manage site resources effectively to maintain programme and productivity targets.
· Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and ensure workforce compliance with safety standards.
· Promote a positive, professional site culture built on teamwork, integrity, and accountability.
Site Delivery & Quality Control
· Oversee day-to-day construction and civil works, ensuring adherence to design, specifications, and company quality standards.
· Manage and review method statements, risk assessments, and inspection and test plans (ITPs).
· Ensure all site documentation, as-builts, and handover records are completed accurately and on time.
· Monitor progress against the programme and provide regular updates to the Project or Contracts Manager.
Commercial & Technical Support
· Assist the Contracts Manager with resource planning, cost tracking, and progress forecasting.
· Identify variations, risks, and opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
· Support tendering and estimating by providing site insights and practical input to methodologies.
· Maintain accurate records of labour, materials, and subcontractor works for commercial reporting.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
· Represent TCES professionally in client and stakeholder meetings.
· Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers to support project success.
· Communicate effectively with the Contracts Manager and wider management team regarding progress, risks, and mitigations
Stakeholder & Client Liaison

Requirements
Essential
· Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Supervisor within civil engineering or rail.
· SMSTS certification and CSCS (Manager's) card.
· PTS qualification (or willingness to obtain).
· Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, HSE legislation, and construction best practices.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
· Competent in Microsoft Office and site management software.
· Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
· HND/HNC or a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
· Temporary Works Supervisor or Coordinator certification.
· First Aid at Work qualification.
· Experience managing subcontractors and self-delivery teams on rail or infrastructure projects.
Working Conditions
· Site-based role with regular travel to TCES project locations. A combination of day and night work depending on project requirements.
· Occasional weekend or out-of-hours work to meet programme milestones.
