About the role:
As a Clinical Lead, you will collaborate closely with the Unit Manager to ensure the implementation of the agreed model of care within the clinical area. Your responsibilities will include direct patient care, participation in quality improvement programs, and adherence to statutory requirements. You will play a vital role in promoting person centred care, ensuring health and safety regulations, and supervising of staff. Additionally, you will deputize for the Unit Manager and provide 24-hour responsibility for the unit in their absence.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
Clinical:
- Support the implementation of the agreed model of care
- Set and monitor standards of care, participate in quality improvement programs
- Adhere to Mental Health Act requirements for detained patients
- Manage unit resources effectively
- Promote user involvement and cultural competence
- Ensure compliance with Risk Management and Health and Safety regulations
Professional & Managerial Leadership:
- Deputize for the Unit Manager and have 24-hour responsibility in their absence
- Efficiently use staffing resources, ensuring safe staffing levels
- Supervise junior staff, ensuring adherence to unit policies and procedures
- Motivate and act as a role model within the team
- Manage designated service areas/site during night duty rotation
Quality, Governance and Administration:
- Act as a Named Nurse, promoting individual packages of care
- Encourage the development of social, family, and personal relationships for service users
- Participate in audits and data collection
- Provide clinical supervision and maintain high professional conduct
- Adhere to unit policies, guidelines, and relevant legislation
Requirements:
- Valid NMC Pin Registration and adherence to professional regulation
- Successful applicant will be expected to work a 50/50 Clinical & Supernumerary Hours
