Job Description

Job title: Commercial Account Handler

Salary: £40,000

Location: Kent

PURPOSE OF ROLE

To provide broking and technical support within the Commercial department, ensuring accurate documentation and delivering timely, compliant service. The role is full-time and office-based, supporting customers with insurance advice and risk management.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Negotiate terms with underwriters
  • Handle and assist with commercial claims
  • Produce accurate, compliant documentation
  • Ensure adherence to internal procedures and FCA regulations
  • Provide tailored insurance advice
  • Maintain professional competence through training
  • Carry out additional tasks as required 

DAY-TO-DAY 

  • Liaise with customers to assess and meet insurance needs
  • Prepare and issue policies, renewals, and endorsement
  • Communicate with underwriters to secure terms
  • Resolve customer queries efficiently
  • Support claims by coordinating with insurers and clients
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards 

EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry
  • Understanding of liability and property insurance
  • Previous experience in commercial insurance handling

SKILLS

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital tools
  • Confident in client presentations
  • Customer-focused with strong product-matching skills
  • Analytical and detail oriented
  • Professional with a responsible approach to information handling
