Job Description:
Role Overview
We are looking for a Network Device Automation Lead to design, develop, and implement automation solutions for network infrastructure. You will work closely with network operations and engineering teams to streamline device configurations, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance using Python, Ansible, and strong networking fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for network device configuration and management using Python and Ansible.
- Integrate automation workflows with network management systems and CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform network device provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with network engineers to identify automation opportunities and implement best practices.
- Ensure security and compliance standards in all automation processes.
- Document automation processes, scripts, and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Python scripting for automation tasks.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible for network automation.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching).
- CCNA certification or equivalent knowledge.
- Familiarity with network device platforms (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of REST APIs and network programmability concepts.
- Experience with tools like Netmiko, NAPALM, or similar Python libraries.
- Exposure to cloud networking and SDN technologies.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and network security principles.
