Health Care Support Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals, particularly seniors, in a variety of settings including nursing homes and private residences. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in your care through personal support, companionship, and practical assistance.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to assist clients with complex behaviours.
- Assist clients with mobility or transfers.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to appropriate personnel.
- Ensure a safe and clean living environment by performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide first aid when required.
Skills
- Proven experience in senior care or a similar role is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and health care practices is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Familiarity with behaviour management techniques is an advantage.
- First aid certification is beneficial but not mandatory; training may be provided.
- A caring attitude combined with patience and empathy towards clients' needs.
