Job Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals, particularly seniors, in a variety of settings including nursing homes and private residences. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in your care through personal support, companionship, and practical assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
  • Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to assist clients with complex behaviours.
  • Assist clients with mobility or transfers.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure a safe and clean living environment by performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and provide first aid when required.

Skills

  • Proven experience in senior care or a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols and health care practices is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
  • Familiarity with behaviour management techniques is an advantage.
  • First aid certification is beneficial but not mandatory; training may be provided.
  • A caring attitude combined with patience and empathy towards clients' needs.
