CYP DA and VAWG Prevention Worker

We are seeking a passionate professional to join Warrington's Domestic Abuse Hub in a newly created role focused on strengthening our prevention response to domestic abuse (DA) and violence against women and girls (VAWG) for children and young people.
The roleThis role focuses on three key areas:
Education and Prevention: Design and deliver age appropriate and engaging DA and VAWG workshops for CYP, promoting safety, prevention, and clear support pathways.
Whole School Approach: Support education settings to embed the RESET programme and deliver healthy relationship lessons, encouraging a consistent, whole-school response to DA and VAWG.
Direct Support: Provide structured interventions for CYP affected by domestic abuse through short-term 1:1 or group work.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver healthy relationship workshops in schools/education settings and youth settings.
- Raise awareness of DA and VAWG among CYP and to multi-agency professionals
- Promote local services and pathways, supporting schools/education settings to adopt best practice.
- Work closely with CHIDVA,YPVA, and multi-agency partners to embed trauma-informed approaches.
- Contribute to system-wide change, ensuring services are inclusive, accessible, and shaped by lived experience.
- Ability to communicate and work with children and young people from the age of 6 to 17 incorporating direct work to meet age related needs and abilities.
- Experience of working with young people affected by domestic abuse, trauma, or safeguarding concerns.
Strong understanding of the VAWG agenda and relevant legislation, including the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.
Experience of partnership working and influencing change across multi-agency settings.
- Ability to analyse data and identify trends to inform strategic planning.
- Experience of delivering training and awareness sessions to professionals and communities.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and risk management.
- Understanding of the impact of trauma and the importance of trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
