PART TIME MATHS, BIOLOGY AND CHEMISTRY TUTOR (Mon-Fri 4pm/6pm - 7.30pm)

We are looking for outgoing, spirited and confident educators, gap year students undergraduates, graduates or post graduates who have a high level of ability in Maths, Biology and Chemistry.

All resources and planning are provided, and you will be teaching small groups (1:5 ratio). There is no work to take home and almost no work to prepare beforehand (depending on your level of knowledge).

This role would suit individuals who would like to supplement their income by earning part-time during the weekday evenings (Mon-Fri) and who love to impart knowledge to young people.

The successful candidate must be willing to communicate with young people and be passionate in delivering knowledge and skills. They must lead by example (punctuality, attendance, good personality, can-do attitude and high results) and expect nothing less from their mentees. They must also be excellent at following instructions as well as giving instructions and have excellent written and spoken communication skills (providing feedback, monitoring, reporting and assessing).

Responsibilities include:

    1. Teaching in small groups.
    1. Managing discussion groups.
    1. Marking work accurately and providing written and verbal feedback.
    1. Mentoring students to achieve higher through emotional intelligence and knowledge.
    1. Teaching study, revision and exam technique and skills.
    1. Invigilating and marking exam papers.
    1. Monitoring outcomes of tutors and students (training provided).
    1. Work Times: Mondays to Fridays | 6pm to 7.30pm or 4.15pm - 7.30pm (school term).
    1. Education: In any of the above subjects, a minimum grade of: A at GCSE level, B at A level. 2:2 in a relevant degree (please ring or email to discuss if unsure).
    1. Experience: no experience necessary as full training will be given, although preference is given to those who have experience.
    1. Skills: ability to teach and deliver knowledge to young people; have excellent spoken and written skills.
    1. Personality Profile: outgoing, spirited, positive, social and confident manner and can take control and guide groups.
    1. Job Type: Part-time / Contractual (5 days a week)
    1. Salary: £15.00-£20.00 per hour (a minimum of two hours in any one day); flexible time arrangements.
    1. Location: would suit individuals who can travel or live in or around Hall Green.
    1. Interview Process: involves visiting our centre, discussing your education history, reviewing any teaching experience, delivering a 1.5-hour teaching session and providing feedback thereafter.
