In this role you will be responsible for the management of projects for the provision of Test Equipment supporting Depot-Level Test Capability and Production Acceptance Testing for Military Aircraft Flight Control Systems. The position emphasizes leadership in project execution, stakeholder collaboration, and vendor management. This role focuses on ensuring high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery of Test Equipment to support the aftermarket business.
This is a high-responsibility, technically complex role ideal for a seasoned engineer with strong leadership, vendor management, and project execution skills. It offers a blend of technical depth, strategic oversight, and international collaboration.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as lead for one major project and concurrently manage up to five minor projects, ensuring compliance with customer and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee schedules, resource allocation, financial forecasting and executive-level status reporting.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality) and external vendors to deliver complex systems to specification.
  • Work with US and international military customers to capture, validate and manage requirements across the project lifecycle.
  • Develop Requirement Specifications and Statements of Work to support RFQs; manage subcontract procurement, vendor performance and on-site contractor coordination.
  • Conduct vendor audits and technical evaluations; enforce supplier quality and contractual compliance.
  • Produce and maintain project documentation, proposals and resource-loaded schedules; manage configuration and release processes.
  • Drive resolution of corrective actions, significant issues and non-conformances; support root-cause analysis, quality audits and health & safety risk assessments.

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience managing subcontract procurement and supplier performance for test equipment.
  • Strong requirements management and verification & validation experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and manage cost, schedule and scope trade-offs.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) fundamentals.
  • Hands-on test experience with hydraulic, electric and mechanical aerospace actuation systems.
  • Eligibility to obtain required US or UK security clearance.

What we offer

  • Flexible benefits and development opportunities to support career progression.
  • 33 days' annual leave (including bank holidays).
  • Private medical insurance, mental health support and financial advice.
  • Generous life assurance and company pension contribution (from 6%).
