Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Brick Mason to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring brickwork structures with precision and professionalism. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise specialised masonry skills in a dynamic environment, contributing to high-quality building projects. The Brick Mason will work closely with other tradespeople to ensure safety, efficiency, and craftsmanship on site.
Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to blueprints and specifications, ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, chipping, or removing old mortar to facilitate new brickwork.
- Mix mortar and other materials using hand tools or power tools to achieve the desired consistency.
- Use a variety of hand tools such as trowels, levels, hammers, and chisels to execute precise masonry work.
- Operate power tools including drills, saws, and grinders safely and effectively.
- Assist with related tasks such as carpentry or roofing when required for project completion.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects.
Skills
- Proven experience in bricklaying, masonry, or related construction trades.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of bricklaying techniques and materials.
- Basic carpentry skills beneficial for framing or structural adjustments.
- Familiarity with roofing or welding is advantageous but not essential.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to produce accurate work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
