The Role

As our Accounts Assistant, you'll be the right-hand to our Financial Controller, supporting all finance operations and ensuring smooth, accurate, and timely processes across the business.

What You'll Do

· Manage the Credit Control function

· Assist with month-end closing and reporting

· Prepare sales, debtor, and branch stock reports

· Support year-end audits and schedules

· Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

· Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts

· Process purchase invoices, credit notes and reconcile supplier statements

· Review and co-ordinate supplier payments

· Collate time & attendance data for payroll submission

· Administer the Company Pension scheme

· Prepare quarterly VAT returns

· Compile monthly data for analytics

· Provide branch support for cash and card issues, including staff induction

· Report incidents to the insurance company

· Act as system administrator for Bistrack

· Ensure legal storage and destruction of company documents

· Suggest improvements to finance processes and efficiencies

· Take on any other tasks as assigned by the Financial Controller

Skills & Experience

· Experience in a finance role, preferably in an SME

· Hands-on knowledge of Accounts Payable/Receivable

· Strong bank reconciliation experience

· Confident Excel skills (formulas, data manipulation)

· Experience with accounting software desirable

· AAT qualification is a bonus

· Training on Bistrack and Microsoft Great Plains provided
