Barnby Court is a home from home privately owned Care Home with 25 beds. Barnby Court is rated 'good' in all areas inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and is band 4 Nottinghamshire County Council rated. The home holds a 5* food hygiene rating. In addition, Barnby Court has been awarded a score of 9.6 on , the leading UK care home review website.

We are looking for a Deputy Manager who can support the Registered Manager to maintain Barnby Court's high standards of compliance and care and to continually improve them. The Deputy Manager will have the ability to lead and manage a team of staff in the absence of the Registered Manager and proactively deputise when required. They will provide support and leadership to the care home staff and will ensure the delivery of quality care - continually assessing our resident's needs and wishes and developing the service to enhance their quality of life. In addition, the Deputy Manager will positively influence the reputation of the home - communicating professionally and warmly with visitors including family, friends and other external stakeholders.

The post will involve covering an on-call rota and weekend availability to provide Barnby Court with additional management cover when required. We are looking for somebody to work 33 hours per week, working 4-5 shifts per week flexibly.

Main duties

  • Supporting the Registered Manager in providing Operational and Clinical Management for all aspects of the Service.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of plans for marketing the Service.
  • Supporting Health and Safety Compliance within the Service
  • Assisting the Registered Manager in meeting and exceeding the quality compliance requirements of the CQC and Local Authority.

Essential Experience

Given the importance of this role to ensuring we provide the highest standards of care for all our residents, you will be required to have at least five years' experience of caring for vulnerable people and a Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

At least one year of your experience working with vulnerable people should also have been in a Team Leader or Deputy Manager role.

You must also have good leadership, organisation and IT skills. A car driver would be desirable due to the location of the home and the job requirements to carry out prospective resident assessments, attend hospital appointments etc. You must also be willing to work towards obtaining your Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care.
