Role Overview

As a
Valuations Director
, you will lead and grow a high-performing team within our national Valuations practice. You will be responsible for managing complex valuation engagements across a diverse range of industries, supporting clients with strategic decision-making in transactions, financial reporting, tax, dispute resolution, and business planning.

You will play a key role in driving business development, deepening client relationships, and contributing to the strategic direction of the firm's valuation and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

Client Delivery & Technical Excellence

  • Lead and review valuation assignments for business enterprises, intangible assets, financial instruments, and other interests for purposes including M&A, financial reporting (IFRS/UK GAAP), tax, and litigation.
  • Provide authoritative technical guidance and ensure all reports meet regulatory, professional, and firm standards.
  • Oversee and challenge complex financial models, discounted cash flow analyses, and market-based valuation techniques.
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to boards, investors, legal advisors, and other stakeholders.

Business Development

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to expand the valuation client base across sectors.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with senior clients, corporate executives, and private equity investors.
  • Collaborate with Partners and Directors across service lines to identify cross-selling opportunities.

Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and mentor valuation professionals, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.
  • Drive a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and high performance within the team.
  • Manage staffing, training, and performance evaluations in line with the firm's talent framework.

Strategic Contribution

  • Support the Partner group in shaping the future of the valuation practice—enhancing methodologies, technology adoption, and service innovation.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, market insights, and external profile-raising initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all professional, ethical, and quality standards.

Key Requirements

Qualifications

  • ACA/CA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • A postgraduate degree (MBA, MSc Finance, etc.) preferred but not essential.

Experience

  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in valuations, corporate finance, or transaction advisory, ideally within a Big Four or Top 10 accounting/advisory firm.
  • Proven track record of leading complex valuation engagements across multiple sectors.
  • Deep understanding of valuation methodologies, financial modelling, and relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management at senior levels.
