Your profile- You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- You have 2+ years experience in food product development in FMCG manufacturing
- You are proficient in the kitchen; (you don't have to be a professionally trained chef)
- You have a track record of being able to manage and deliver a range of NPD concepts at different stages of the development cycle on time and to a great standard
- You have great attention to detail and experience of working with product specifications and managing product content on packaging and at point of sale
- You have an excellent knowledge of food hygiene, with foundation training or ideally a qualification in this area
- You have experience working with food content creation / food styling
- Food Allergen Awareness Trained
- Health and Safety Trained
- Hygiene Level 2 certificate

As we expand our horizons in 2026 — exploring new product formats, flavours, and ways to reach more home cooks — we're looking for a creative and detail-oriented Recipe & Product Developer to help bring this vision to life.
You'll be responsible for developing and refining SimplyCook's core flavour kit range and driving innovation in related product extensions — from new flavour lines and product formats to exciting ideas that broaden our range and strengthen our position as leaders in flavour innovation.
You'll manage product development from concept through to launch, support the validation of new ideas, and ensure all recipe content — both printed and digital — is accurate, up to date, and true to our food standards. From hands-on kitchen testing to perfecting cooking instructions and flavour profiles, you'll play a vital role in shaping the next generation of SimplyCook products — inspiring confidence in our customers and making it easier than ever for them to cook great food at home.
- Lead the end-to-end NPD and EPD cycles for SimplyCook's flavour kits — from concept, kitchen testing, and refinement through to final supplier handover.
- Conduct all recipe and flavour testing for flavour kits and new product formats.
- Liaise with suppliers on samples, feedback, and revisions until the product is finalised.
- Draft simple recipes that align with the brand style and tone of voice of SimplyCook
- Work closely with the Head of Food on product diversification and continuous improvement and refinement of the core range.
- Support our product researcher with testing and validating new product concepts and flavour directions.
- Manage all recipe content for SimplyCook's website and printed recipe cards, ensuring it remains accurate, clear, and up to date.
- Execute updates and manage progress, ensuring quality and consistency across all recipes — with final sign-off from the Head of Food.
- Lead the upcoming project to review and update all existing recipe cards to comply with food safety and regulatory standards, working closely with the Design and Operations teams to update copy with validated cooking times and to support on proof-reading and sense-checking.
- Support regularly on recipe photo and video shoots, ensuring dishes are prepared, styled, and represented beautifully and accurately.
- Work closely with the Technical Manager to ensure all product details are captured correctly.
- Collaborate with the Head of Food and wider Food Team to deliver innovation projects smoothly and effectively.
- Are creative and passionate about food with an excellent awareness of emerging food trends.
- Love creating food that's flavourful, practical, and consumer-led.
- Enjoy hands-on development and seeing products through from idea to launch.
- Care deeply about recipe accuracy and customer experience.
- Work collaboratively and bring energy to cross-functional projects.
