Senior Quality Engineer

We are supporting a leading manufacturer who is looking for a driven Senior Quality Engineer to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on inspection work, problem-solving, and continuous improvement, and who thrives in a fast-paced production environment.

The Role

You will support product and process quality across the business, ensuring standards are maintained and issues are resolved efficiently. Expect a varied position combining shop-floor support, data analysis, audits, and structured investigation work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections using a range of measuring equipment
  • Operate and program CMM equipment as part of wider inspection duties
  • Support metallurgical testing and routine equipment calibration
  • Investigate customer concerns, returns, and internal quality issues using structured problem-solving tools (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys)
  • Analyse quality and SPC data to support decision-making and improvements
  • Interpret engineering drawings & Bills of Materials
  • Support internal and external audits in line with ISO 9001 & ISO 14001

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing quality engineering role
  • Experience with inspection equipment (CMM capability required as part of the role)
  • Understanding of SPC, quality tools & data analysis
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and audit processes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a quality-focused team
  • Strong written communication & organisational skills

Desired

  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge/certification
  • Exposure to FMEA, Control Plans & CAPA
  • ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor training

Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification (C&G / BTEC Level 3 or equivalent)
