What's the role?

We're looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our growing product team alongside our Product Designer and VP of Product.

You'll fully own Howbout's new subscription product, Howbout+, managing the entire subscription experience, from strategy and pricing to user journeys, retention and growth. Working cross-functionally with design, engineering and leadership, you'll turn our monetisation strategy into reality and create a subscription experience our users love.

You'll be working at the heart of Howbout's product, on initiatives critical to the company's success and future growth.

This is a mainly in-office role based in our London office (currently in Shoreditch), with one day a week spent working remotely.

What will you be doing?

  • Own Howbout's monetisation roadmap, beginning with subscriptions, in partnership with the VP Product and other members of the leadership team.
  • Oversee execution across design, engineering and marketing to ensure features are built beautifully, shipped smoothly, and communicated clearly.
  • Champion user empathy by speaking directly with users to uncover what really matters to them and why they use (or don't use) Howbout.
  • Define, prioritise and deliver experiments, testing pricing, positioning, and features to improve conversion and retention.
  • Explore emerging monetisation models, partnerships, and platform opportunities.
  • Stay on top of best practices in app monetisation, growth loops, and consumer subscriptions.

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a talented, ambitious and data-driven Product Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You should be passionate about building consumer apps and have experience scaling subscription models that turn free users into happy, paying customers.

What do you definitely need to have?

  • Track record:
4+ years of experience in product management, including experience managing subscription-based mobile apps.
  • Ownership mindset:
You're accountable for outcomes, not just output, and you're confident in taking full ownership of a product area.
  • Consumer app experience:
You deeply understand user behaviour and engagement drivers in mobile apps.
  • Data-driven:
You use data to inform decisions, define success metrics, and validate hypotheses.
  • Strong communicator:
You collaborate effectively with engineers, designers and marketers, bringing clarity and alignment to every project.
  • User empathy:
You're obsessed with understanding what users value, and translating that into great experiences and business growth.
  • Strategic thinker:
You balance the long-term vision with fast-paced experimentation.
  • Grit:
You persevere towards ambitious goals, thrive in ambiguity, and love solving hard problems.
  • Growth mindset:
You seek feedback, embrace learning, and constantly push yourself and your team to improve.
  • Team player:
You're collaborative, humble, and motivated by shared success.
  • Sense of humour:
We don't take life too seriously at Howbout

What's nice to have?

  • Experience working on consumer social, lifestyle or productivity apps.
  • Familiarity with experimentation tools, analytics platforms, and A/B testing frameworks.
  • Experience scaling products internationally.

What's in it for you?
