Job Title: Director of Technical Operations

Location: London (Head Office)

A respected organisation within the built environment sector is seeking a Director of Technical Operations to lead its engineering and building services function. This role oversees the delivery of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and fabric services across a multi-site portfolio, ensuring high standards, strong compliance and reliable service performance.

The Role:

You will provide strategic direction and hands on leadership across all technical operations, managing multi-site teams, shaping processes and driving commercial performance. With full financial responsibility, you'll champion operational excellence, client satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial performance, budgets & margins
  • Control costs, support bids & commercial insight
  • Oversee maintenance, engineering & compliance
  • Improve processes, quality & asset management
  • Lead, develop & manage multi-site teams
  • Ensure safety, statutory & regulatory standards
  • Act as senior client contact & manage escalations
  • Contribute to strategy, reviews & business improvements

About You:

  • Experienced leader in technical operations, engineering or services.
  • Proven track record managing multi-site teams and delivering operational excellence.
  • Strong commercial acumen with P&L accountability and budget management experience.
  • Skilled in regulatory compliance, safety and quality management.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to build strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands on approach and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Able to motivate teams, drive performance and foster a culture of accountability and service excellence
