Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated physiotherapist to join our well-established, proactive team, working within the unscheduled care pathway at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Our focus is on improving inpatient flow through the hospital and facilitating safe, timely discharges.

In this role, you will work across the entire pathway, with particular emphasis on admission avoidance, frailty, and acute medical wards. You'll provide physiotherapy assessments and treatments for patients with a wide range of conditions, including falls, frailty, neurology, and respiratory care (including on-call)—offering variety and challenge in your day-to-day work.

We're seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and compassionate individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Effective teamwork is essential, as you'll collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

We place great importance on continuing professional development, offering regular in-service training, peer support, and opportunities to contribute to service development alongside our Clinical Specialist and Physiotherapy management team. You'll also have the chance to develop leadership skills through supervisory responsibilities and involvement in service improvement projects.

Main duties of the job
To carry out Physiotherapy assessments and devise individualised therapeutic treatments plans. Work closely with the MDT to support complex discharge plans out of hospital.

Within this position there is a good support, both clinically and managerially from a Team leader, Clinical Specialist and Advanced Practitioner.

To ensure a high standard of care for Patients, linking in closely with families or carers, multi-agency teams and other disciplines involved.

To communicate with patients, carers, agencies and other disciplines in an appropriate manner, often with sensitive information, diagnoses or outcomes.

To supervise, teach and appraise peers, physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, technical instructors, students and other members of the multidisciplinary or multiagency teams.

To train and supervise service users, families or carers and staff from other disciplines or agencies to carry out programmes of care devised by the therapist.

To deputise and support the Clinical Team Leader as required in the daily management of the designated team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
