Position: Production Operative (Machine Shop)

Location: Dungannon

Reporting to: Production Supervisor

Hours of Work: hours per week

What you will do

You will play a pivotal role within the Machine Shop Team, working as a production operative helping to create equipment that helps improve the lives of people around the world.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brakes, plasma cutters, CNC machines and laser cutting systems to produce parts.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, work orders, nesting layouts, and CNC programs to determine dimensions, tolerances, tooling, and sequencing.
  • Perform basic program editing/adjustments at the machine
  • Inspect fresh sheet metal for any imperfections or quality issues
  • Monitor metal quality as its being shaped
  • Meeting set targets whilst working on the production line
  • Adhering to strict quality targets
  • Working as part of a team to develop continuous improvement
  • To maintain compliance to all Health and Safety Regulations, identifying and reporting hazards, near misses and non-conformance.

What you will bring

  • Proven experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in screening & crushing, mobile plant, mining, quarrying, or heavy fabrication.
  • Proficiency operating press brakes, plasma, CNC, and laser machinery (multi‑process capability desirable).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Competence with CNC controls.
  • Strong measurement & inspection skills using common metrology tools.
  • Demonstrated commitment to HSE standards in a machine/fabrication shop.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be fully dependable and reliable.
  • Ability to use own initiative and work with minimal supervision.
