Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring accurate measurements, and maintaining financial control across our diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Management: Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for civil engineering projects
  • Contract Administration: Manage contracts, variations, and commercial aspects of projects from inception to completion
  • Measurement & Valuation: Conduct accurate take-offs, measurements, and valuations for interim and final payments
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential cost risks and implement strategies to mitigate financial exposure
  • Progress Monitoring: Track project progress against budgets and provide regular cost reports to management
  • Subcontractor Management: Manage subcontractor payments, variations, and final accounts
  • Claims Management: Prepare and negotiate claims for additional works and extensions of time
  • Client Relations: Liaise with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders on commercial matters

Essential Requirements

  • Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of quantity surveying experience in civil engineering or construction
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in measurement software (CostX, Glodon, or similar) and MS Office Suite
  • Contract Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction contracts (NEC, JCT, FIDIC)
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities)
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations
  • Project management certification or experience
  • Familiarity with BIM software and digital measurement tools
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in construction
