Position Overview
The Balance Sheet Management Associate will be responsible for supporting with client management and balance sheet management across the various entities and jurisdictions of ISGI's largest client, Athora and other portfolio companies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support senior Balance Sheet Managers in their day-to-day interactions with local and group company investment offices through preparation of analysis, portfolio reviews and reporting
  • Support with the development and implementation of the strategic and tactical asset allocation for client entities by supporting efforts around portfolio rebalancing, duration management and exposures analysis
  • Educate client entities of new investment strategy and support governance efforts including group/ local investment committees. The entities span different countries and regulatory regimes (Solvency II, Solvency I, Bermuda BSCR, rating agency capital etc)
  • Provide support on the structuring, execution and monitoring of portfolio hedging and rebalancing solutions
  • Assist in the preparation of senior management information and bespoke analysis and liaise with other ISGI functions to respond to queries from ISGI's clients and stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in portfolio mgmt. at insurance, investment banks and/or investment mgmt. firms
  • Proficiency and exposure across liquid fixed income markets and synthetic derivative instruments
  • Strong understanding of insurance specific asset management tenets like ALM, capital management and accounting
  • Deep understanding of fixed income principles, macro market indicators and risk factors
  • Experience of independently performing detailed analysis that highlights portfolio risk
  • Ability to perform under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Academic background in finance, mathematics, physics or equivalent
  • Effective communication skills, verbal, and written
  • Working proficiency in German, Dutch, Italian or another Western European language is a plus but not a necessity
