Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team to support in the areas of Stafford and Stoke-On-Trent and on Saturday and Sunday with set hours. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care to individuals in various settings, including their own home and the community. This role is essential in supporting our clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition.
- Assist with medication administration as per care plans and guidelines.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs, including those with PEG's or Cerebral palsy.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience is highly desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in Social Care are beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- A valid driving licence is essential for transporting clients when needed.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and engage in physically demanding tasks as part of daily responsibilities.
