My client is a VC-backed, early-stage AI HealthTech start-up focused on transforming how clinics operate. Their platform replaces outdated, fragmented healthcare software with an intelligent system that automates key workflows. The aim is to reduce administrative burden and allow clinicians to spend more time on patient care.

They are developing a system that enhances clinician efficiency and supports better decision-making. By consolidating patient records, automating documentation and billing, and providing actionable insights, the platform enables clinics to operate more smoothly and deliver improved outcomes for patients.

Many healthcare providers still rely on legacy systems that slow processes and require excessive administrative work. Clinicians often spend hours managing paperwork rather than seeing patients. My client's solution automates the full clinical workflow, integrating patient information across all stages of care to improve efficiency, financial performance, and patient experience.

The Opportunity

My client is seeking a
Principal / Lead Engineer
to take the existing MVP and evolve it into a robust, scalable platform suitable for wider adoption. This role will have significant influence over system architecture, technical strategy, and engineering practices as the product develops.

The role involves close collaboration with AI and product teams to turn innovative ideas into reliable, production-ready solutions, while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of secure, scalable systems
  • Define the technical roadmap and establish engineering best practice
  • Collaborate with AI and product teams to implement intelligent automation in production
  • Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence
  • Take ownership of problems, move quickly, and deliver results

Ideal Background

  • Experience designing or scaling software from MVP to production-ready systems
  • Strong full-stack or back-end development experience (TypeScript / Node / GCP preferred)
  • In-depth understanding of cloud infrastructure and system architecture
  • Product-focused mindset, prioritising impact and outcomes over technology for its own sake
  • Genuine interest in AI and its application to complex real-world challenges

Location

London-based, hybrid working model with 2–3 days per week in the Aldgate East office
