Job Summary
A Equipment / Warehouse and Yard Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of project equipment being ordered- Stock levels maintained- equipment replaced or repaired on return from projects-Equipment manifested / loaded correctly as per current shipping regulations and clients expectation. Hire equipment monitored ensuring P.O`s are created and or closed out in line with month accounts. Warehouse requirements are to ensuring efficient storage, inventory management, and distribution of goods. This role involves managing staff, optimising workflows, maintaining safety standards, and improving operational efficiency to meet business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all project equipment orders/ deliveries/ shipments for offshore projects.
- Oversee and manage all warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
- Oversee and manage project equipment storage containers making sure all stock levels are maintained, equipment is in a safe and suitable condition to be used again on future projects.
- Ensure equipment being returned from projects is maintained/ fixed/ replaced and all cross hired equipment is returned to the correct suppliers for off hire.
- Develop and implement warehouse policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure accurate inventory management and stock control.
- Supervise and train warehouse staff to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor and maintain warehouse safety standards and compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and internal departments for smooth operations.
- Optimise warehouse layout and workflows for maximum efficiency.
- Analyse warehouse performance and implement cost-saving measures.
- Handle reporting, budgeting, and forecasting related to warehouse operations.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Knowledge of logistics, supply chain, and distribution processes.
- Ability to manage budgets and optimise operational costs.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills.
- Understanding of health, safety, and compliance regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
- Certification in logistics or warehouse management is a plus.
- Experience with ERP and inventory management software.
