Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Room Leader to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise leadership skills while making a positive impact on children's early learning experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Supervise children during playtime, meals, and rest periods to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Foster a warm and inclusive environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and confidence among children.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop programmes that meet individual needs and organisational objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns.
  • Support the organisation of outings or trips, including driving children when necessary in company vehicles.
  • Lead by example in maintaining high standards of behaviour, organisation, and professionalism within the nursery setting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery environment.
  • Strong management and leadership skills to guide both children and team members effectively.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage positively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent are preferred.
  • Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children during outings or activities.
  • Organised with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining a caring approach.
  • A genuine passion for early childhood development and education.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £29,420.00-£32,386.00 per year
