Maths Teacher
to join a well-established department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching across the Key Stages and ability range, expecting the highest possible standards of work from the pupils.
  • Complying with the school's School Improvement Cycle, the School Staff Handbook, and the School Department priorities and policies regarding aims and objectives, schemes of work, assessment, target-setting, homework and administrative duties.
  • Making use of the department's resources, including information technology.
  • Assessing students' progress regularly and completing assessment sheets/reports.
  • Ensuring the classroom is clean, attractive and educationally stimulating.
  • Encouraging high standards of behaviour within the classroom.
  • Ensuring teaching is in line with the whole-school curriculum vision.
  • Contributing to the achievement of development plan goals and targets.
  • Supporting the pastoral work of the school, including as a Form Tutor.

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant higher education course with a nationally accepted qualification.
  • Appropriate and relevant professional training.
  • Ability to teach Mathematics across the Key Stages and ability range, including Key Stage 5.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and other staff.
  • High level of organisational skills and the ability to create an atmosphere in which pupils can learn effectively.
  • High expectations for the work and behaviour of pupils.
  • Interest and skills in the use of information technology.
  • Enthusiasm, a sense of humour, and a willingness to show adaptability and initiative in making contributions to the school.
