Salary - £45,000 - £50,000 per annum dependent on experience.
The Role:
Reporting in to the General Manager as our Transport & Planning Manager, you will be a senior leader responsible for the day-to-day operation of our busy transport and planning teams on our BOC contract. Working closely with drivers, planners, and management, you'll ensure the timely and cost-effective service to our customer while maintaining compliance and high service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily transport operations and coordinate vehicles plans and driver schedules
- Ensure compliance with all transport legislation (including tachograph, driver hours, and vehicle maintenance)
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to meet delivery deadlines
- Assist in route planning and vehicle optimisation to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Investigate and resolve transport-related issues or incidents
- Monitor KPI performance and prepare operational reports
- Attend customer meetings / different driver depots
- SOP & SSOW creator & owner
- Lead, support and mentor planners and drivers.
- H&S champion and driver of exceptional standards and compliance.
- Experienced at leading a team of 70+ drivers and planners
- Senior Transport planning and scheduling experience.
- Proven experience in a transport or logistics coordination role (senior level preferred)
- Strong understanding of transport legislation and compliance
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft skills (Excel & Word) complex spreadsheet creation and ownership
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office
- Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) qualified.

• DGSA (Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor)
• NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health)
