Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service. As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our café runs smoothly, from food preparation to serving customers. Your ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene will be essential. We want someone confident opening and closing the shop and able to work independently. In addition, working well with other team members promoting a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with catering events, ensuring that all requirements are met efficiently.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, taking orders and addressing any customer inquiries or concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including dining spaces and food preparation areas.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
  • Assist in inventory management, including restocking supplies as needed.
  • Uphold food safety standards at all times, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Support barista duties when required, including the preparation of coffee and other beverages.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or café setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with food preparation techniques and food safety practices is essential.
  • Experience in catering or serving roles is advantageous.
  • A background in hospitality is highly desirable, demonstrating an understanding of customer service excellence.
  • Barista experience is a plus, particularly for those interested in coffee preparation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
