Job Introduction

As Stop Smoking Advisors, we deliver frontline support to individuals ready to quit smoking, empowering them through motivational techniques, behaviour change strategies, and compassionate engagement. We work across clinics, community settings, and remote platforms to ensure our services are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to local needs.

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Stop Smoking Advisor to join our dynamic public health team. This frontline role is central to our mission of reducing smoking prevalence and improving health outcomes across our communities. You will work directly with individuals who want to quit smoking, offering personalised support through evidence-based interventions, motivational techniques, and tailored behaviour change strategies. By helping people make lasting changes, you'll contribute meaningfully to reducing health inequalities and improving lives across the District.

The main responsibilities of this role:

  • Conduct consultations and assessments with clients to assess risk factors and develop individual action plans, in line with Living Well policies and procedures.
  • Use Motivational Interviewing and Behaviour Change techniques to support clients within the caseload
  • Carry out review meetings to assess progress, motivate and facilitate long term change.
  • Facilitate referral to support services across the District that can help clients achieve their goals.
  • Manage time and caseloads to ensure efficient use of resources
