As QA Manager, you'll be the driving force behind a robust Quality Management System, ensuring every product that leaves site is safe, legal, compliant, and consistently high-quality.

This role will suit a strong quality leader with deep BRCGS experience, a calm and decisive approach to risk management, and a natural ability to engage teams in world-class food safety behaviours.

This role is based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire - easily commutable from Milton Keynes, Bedford, Luton, Stevenage, Welwyn, St Albans, etc.

Working Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm - no evenings, nights or weekends Generous holiday allowance of 24 days plus bank holidays.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop, implement and maintain the site QMS in line with BRCGS, HACCP and customer standards
  • Own the internal audit programme across food safety, hygiene, GMP, regulatory and customer requirements
  • Host and manage all external audits, be the point of contact for customer and regulatory bodies
  • Maintain the HACCP plan and manage incident and risk management processes
  • Oversee hygiene and pest control programmes, environmental and water testing, allergen testing too
  • Review and manage supplier performance for raw materials, packaging and services
  • Lead sampling and testing programmes for raw materials and finished goods
  • Manage distressed stock and out-of-date materials
  • Lead, coach and develop the onsite QA team

What you need:

  • Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or similar level qualifications
  • Strong experience in food manufacturing quality management
  • Deep understanding of BRCGS standards and audit requirements
  • Confident people manager, ideally lead auditor trained
