What is the Role?

Role: Business Development Summer Placement

Salary: £24,580 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

Working Pattern:12 week fixed term contract | Full Time | Flexible First options available

Location: London

Working as part of our multi-disciplined teams, we have a range of opportunities for students to support projects across our Thermal business. We're looking for students who can bring fresh ideas, new skills and creative thinking, to deliver innovative solutions to help us reach net zero. This is an exciting time to join SSE Thermal and our vision couldn't be simpler: to be the leading provider of flexible energy in a net zero world.

Our summer placement is a 12-week programme. Throughout the placement, you will have the support of a business mentor and buddy, who will provide guidance and support to enable you to reach your full potential. You will be based in our Development Team. You would be working alongside colleagues who are exploring opportunities in emerging carbon capture and hydrogen technologies to ensure we can continue to provide flexible and reliable energy in a net zero world.

What do I need?

You'll be studying a science, technology, engineering, maths, business or economics degree. Our opportunities are open to students who are in their 2nd year of their degree onwards or those who have already graduated.

We'd love you to have some practical work or project experience that reflects your passion for the energy sector, as well as demonstrable experience of working in a team. You'll also be comfortable working to and setting stretching individual targets and using your own initiative to overcome challenges and should have a genuine interest in SSE Thermal and the prospect of a long-term future with us.
