Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for garment construction and alteration, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. As a Seamstress, you will be responsible for making alterations to ensure the perfect fit for our clients. This role requires both creativity and technical expertise, allowing you to showcase your craftsmanship in every piece you work on.

Responsibilities

  • Perform alterations on various types of clothing, including suits, dresses, and casual wear.
  • Repair damaged clothing by replacing zippers, buttons, or other components as needed.
  • Maintain an organised workspace and keep sewing equipment in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide expert advice on fabric choices and styles.
  • Ensure all finished garments meet quality standards before delivery to clients.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Seamstress or in a similar role within the fashion industry is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and various tailoring tools.
  • Strong understanding of different fabrics and garment construction methods.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on precision in measurements and alterations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills to effectively interact with clients and understand their requirements.
