Overview

Are you passionate about safeguarding and enabling positive risk management for adults with complex needs? We're looking for a Positive Risk Enablement Panel (PREP) Co-Ordinator to join our Adults and Health Directorate in Buckinghamshire. This is a pivotal role within our new Multi-Agency Risk Management (MARM) Framework, designed to strengthen collaboration and improve outcomes for adults at risk. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where communication, coordination, and continuous improvement are key, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

This is a fixed term/secondment role until 1st June 2026.

About us

Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation that combines the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses. We are firmly focused on the future and have made a clear commitment to serve residents better and to provide stronger representation for Buckinghamshire, both locally and nationally.

About the role

As the PREP Co-Ordinator, you'll be the central point of contact for the Positive Risk Enablement Panel, ensuring that learning from practice informs strategic planning and service delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating PREP meetings – from scheduling and circulating information to ensuring timely feedback for individuals and families.
  • Driving collaboration – working closely with partner organisations and the Buckinghamshire Safeguarding Adults Board to share best practice and improve safeguarding responses.
  • Promoting positive risk management – enabling adults to make informed decisions while balancing safety and independence.
  • Reporting and analysis – producing thematic reviews and reports for partnership boards, identifying trends and training needs.
  • Continuous improvement – maintaining accurate records, updating resources, and ensuring compliance with legislation and policy.

This role is based in Aylesbury (Walton Street) with flexible working options and requires an Enhanced DBS with barring check.

Any-Desk:

As an 'any-desk' worker, you'll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

About you

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Knowledgeable and experienced – with a strong understanding of safeguarding legislation (Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, etc.) and experience in multi-agency working.
  • Organised and proactive – able to plan meetings, manage workloads, and deliver clear, timely communication.
  • A skilled communicator – confident in chairing meetings, writing reports, and engaging with professionals, families, and adults with care needs.
  • Values-driven – proud, ambitious, collaborative, and trustworthy, with a commitment to openness and continuous improvement.
  • Qualified – with a social work qualification and is educated to degree level or equivalent. Minimum of Two years post qualified in a relevant setting.
  • ICT proficient – comfortable using Microsoft applications and specialist systems.
  • Flexible and mobile – a full driving licence is essential for this role.

If you're ready to make a real difference in safeguarding and risk enablement, we'd love to hear from you.

Please refer to the job summary attached for full details about the role.
