This Position reports to:
UK Lifecycle Automation Sales LeadIn this role you will drive growth and expand ABB's market presence by executing the lifecycle services sales strategy across assigned UK accounts. As a key player in the automation space, you'll deliver impactful service sales initiatives that grow revenue, margin, and market share—while strengthening customer relationships and ABB's installed base. You'll play a vital role in shaping the success of our automation customer base and delivering best-in-class solutions.

Your Role and ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.
- Work model: hybrid from our St Neots location {#LI-hybrid}
Lead direct sales of ABB automation control systems to our existing installed base, with a focus on high-impact lifecycle service solutions.
Implement and execute tailored sales strategies across the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and Food & Beverage sectors, ensuring strong, strategic engagement with key accounts.
Build and nurture long-term customer partnerships—understanding their needs, resolving issues, and delivering value-added solutions that support their goals.
Identify and develop new opportunities through lead generation, risk analysis, and compelling, timely proposal submissions aligned with ABB's strategic service objectives.
Achieve service sales targets with a structured, data-driven approach, using PAEN tools and methodologies to track progress and results.
Translate ABB's offerings clearly and confidently, including delivery timelines, commercial terms, and technical capabilities.
Drive growth in service sales pursuits by promoting cross-team collaboration and technical understanding within the designated markets.
Continuously monitor performance and proactively implement corrective actions to ensure targets are met and exceeded.
Actively contribute to the negotiation of key contracts, ensuring alignment with customer needs and ABB's commercial strategy.
Proven experience in automation sales, particularly with ABB control systems (e.g., ADVANT/INFI90, 800xA), including modernization and lifecycle service offerings.
Strong understanding of process industry sectors, particularly Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and Food & Beverage, with the ability to implement and execute segment-specific sales strategies.
Demonstrated ability to manage and grow long-term customer relationships, resolve issues, and align solutions to customer needs.
Track record of achieving sales targets, including lead generation, opportunity development, risk management, and proposal submission.
Familiarity with ABB's tools, guidelines, and policies, and commitment to upholding ABB's core values, safety, compliance, and ethical standards.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience participating in and leading contract negotiations.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, including with technical, service, and sales teams, and to share knowledge across teams and geographies.
Understanding of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) principles and ability to apply them in daily operations and customer interactions.
