About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity to join Education Partnership Northeast as an Infrastructure Technician. Based primarily at our Bede campus, you will provide support to our staff and learners across all our campuses in the North-East. Now is a great time to join us on our continuing journey to deliver an outstanding experience for all our customers.

As an Infrastructure Technician, you will work alongside senior engineers and will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and management of all our IT infrastructure systems.

You should demonstrate a high level of commitment and have previous experience in an IT Operations function. You will be a flexible and customer focussed individual with excellent organisational, administrative, and communication skills backed up by an understanding of IT.

You will play a key role in providing 2nd and 3rd line technical infrastructure support across all EPNE sites. Your responsibilities will include a mix of business as usual (BAU) and project work to build and maintain platforms that support our business systems.

Role Responsibilities

  • To act as escalation for all operational incidents regarding technical infrastructure.
  • To proactively maintain technical infrastructure in line with organisational needs and best practice.
  • To develop and maintain the overall College IT environment (both hardware and software).
  • To provide 2nd line telephone and on-site support to end users.
  • Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of college services and information.
  • Drive technology as an effective tool to help increase efficiencies, engage students, and support teaching across the college community.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualifications in an IT related discipline, with evidence of continuing professional development.
  • GCSE Level 4/C English and Maths or equivalent.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Significant technical support experience including exposure to a wide range of technologies and infrastructure components.
  • Experience in the installation, configuration, and management of Microsoft Windows Server.
  • Excellent skills in Active Directory administration and Group Policy management.
  • Proficient in the setup, management, and troubleshooting of core network components (DNS / DHCP)
  • Experience administering cloud services including O365, Exchange, Azure Active Directory, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint and Google Workspace.
  • Understanding of cyber security concepts and best practises.

Desirable Skills & Experience – (Optional)

  • Understanding of network technology including WAN/LAN/WLAN. Experience in network switching and routing would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Windows Server roles (DFS / KMS / ADCS / WSUS)
  • Experience in Microsoft SCCM administration including key features such as application and Operating System deployment.
  • Experience in the configuration, monitoring, and management of enterprise backup solutions.
  • Able to work flexibly in line with the needs of the organisation, both across varying locations and times should the organisational needs demand.
