Role Overview
The Authorising Officer (AO) is a senior and trusted role responsible for ensuring the company complies with UK Home Office sponsor duties. This position focuses on governance, compliance oversight, and liaison with professional advisers rather than day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Authorising Officer for the company's Skilled Worker sponsor licence
- Take overall responsibility for Home Office compliance
- Ensure appropriate HR systems, policies, and record-keeping are in place
- Oversee right-to-work checks, contracts, and salary compliance
- Ensure timely reporting via the Sponsor Management System (SMS)
- Liaise with immigration advisers, accountants, and legal professionals
- Support sponsor licence applications, renewals, and Home Office audits
- Maintain oversight of company structure and ensure the business remains a genuine trading entity
Essential Requirements
- British citizen (required for this role)
- UK-based and available for compliance oversight
- Senior-level experience (director, compliance, management, or governance role preferred)
- High integrity, reliability, and attention to detail
- Comfortable holding legal and compliance responsibility

(Previous sponsor licence or immigration compliance experience is an advantage but not essential.)
