Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom WSP in the UK & Ireland Full time £45,000 - £80,000 per year

Job Description
What if you could do the kind of work the world needs?
At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.

WSP is looking for Engineers and Assistant Engineers to join our industry-leading Intelligent Infrastructure team. We are expanding our Digital Infrastructure Design Capability across all areas and are actively seeking individuals to join our team who have a strong enthusiasm for digital technologies and digital design methodologies. It is crucial to us that our team members question traditional design practices, challenge the status quo, and conceive innovative solutions to enhance our design and delivery processes.

If you have an interest in design and enjoy seeing your work implemented on the roadside, and if you aim to innovate in digital design production, then WSP Intelligent Infrastructure is the team for you. We operate as consultants, designers, and thought leaders, understanding complex design challenges, providing reliable advice, and creating designs that serve the best interests of our clients, maintenance personnel, and their customers.

This role can be based in either Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester or London.

A Little More About Your Role…
As an engineer, you will engage in design tasks within a broader team, facilitating your on-the-job learning of all aspects related to roadside infrastructure design. You are expected to collaborate efficiently with the team, share ideas, provide support, and address any gaps as necessary. Additionally, you will work with a diverse group of individuals and contribute to the mentoring and development of our junior staff. Your role will require a strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguous situations, escalating issues to senior staff when appropriate.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate

  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or relevant experience in technology design
  • Either working towards professional registration or professionally registered with an accredited institute.
  • In possession of domain knowledge in a relevant industry, such as power, communications, electrical, electronics or highway design.

The ideal candidate should have the following skills or competencies:

  • Understanding of roadside infrastructure and design standards
  • Ability to carry out design processes, including the use of design tools
  • Working as part of a team in delivering designs or schemes
  • Collaborating with colleagues from other disciplines

Don't quite meet all the criteria? Apply, and we can see how your experience aligns to this role and other opportunities within the team.

Join our close-knit community of talented individuals who share your passion for making a positive impact. Our global team includes more than 69,000 employees, working together to make a difference in communities both close to home and around the world.

With us, you can. Apply today.
