Job Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Bar Staff to join our vibrant team. As a Bar Staff member, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to our patrons, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while efficiently serving drinks and maintaining the bar area. This position requires excellent communication skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Essential skills: pub or bar experience and barista experience for coffees.

The Black Swan Pub and Theatre is a community interest company, meaning we are not for profit. Paid staff are essential to the pub whilst a team of volunteers coordinate the theatre and community projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, while adhering to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with patrons, taking orders accurately, and responding promptly to requests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including washing glassware, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately.
  • Monitor inventory levels of drinks and supplies, assisting with stock management and reordering as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including responsible serving practices.
  • Assist in creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere for guests by promoting special events or drink offerings.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a bar or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidates.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A passion for mixology or willingness to learn about different beverages is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business needs.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Contract length: 2 months

Pay: £12.30-£13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 21 per week
