Purpose of the Role

To help ensure Quantum's cloud infrastructure and corporate IT systems are secure, scalable, and resilient.

This role combines deep technical ownership of Microsoft Azure and related platforms with responsibility for maintaining a strong internal IT and security foundation.

We are looking for a hands-on Cloud Engineer who can manage infrastructure, automation, and compliance while keeping Quantum's systems reliable, efficient, and well-documented in a fast-moving fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering

·     Design, build, and operate Azure environments including
Container Apps, Kubernetes, Postgres, Redis, Event Hubs, Kafka, Storage, and Vercel
, ensuring high performance, security, and cost efficiency.

·     Define and maintain
governance planning and access control
, including granular permission structures, RBAC, and least-privilege configurations across all resources.

·     Build and manage infrastructure using
Terraform and Azure CLI
, enabling consistency, traceability, and automated change control.

·     Implement strong
observability and compliance frameworks
(metrics, logging, tracing, and audits) to guarantee visibility, reliability, and adherence to high-regulation standards.

·     Support and automate
development, staging/UAT, and production
environments with robust deployment pipelines, rollback strategies, and smoke testing.

·     Collaborate with development, data, and product teams to
automate workflows, deployments, and testing
, ensuring consistency and scalability across environments.

·     Establish and maintain
disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity
strategies with automated validation and detailed recovery documentation.

·     Maintain clear, well-structured
documentation
for architectures, deployments, and operational procedures, fostering transparency and long-term maintainability.

Security & Risk Management

·     Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls, including MFA, conditional access, endpoint protection, encryption, and vulnerability remediation.

·     Oversee secure authentication workflows and alignment with compliance frameworks across cloud and internal systems.

·     Lead incident response and post-incident reviews to strengthen operational resilience.

·     Conduct periodic
security and compliance audits
, ensuring continuous adherence to internal standards and external requirements.

·     Promote a proactive culture of
security awareness, accountability, and documentation
throughout the organisation.

Corporate IT & Internal Systems

·     Manage corporate systems and licences (Microsoft 365,
Entra ID
, VPNs, DevOps, Revolut access).

·     Oversee
Entra ID management
, including group policies, access reviews, and conditional access rules for both cloud and internal environments.

·     Manage endpoint configuration and compliance using
Microsoft Intune, Apple MDM, and Windows Autopilot
, ensuring devices are encrypted, patched, and policy-compliant.

·     Handle onboarding/offboarding, laptop setup, and permissions management through secure, automated workflows.

·     Maintain comprehensive
documentation and inventories
of IT assets, configurations, and access permissions.

·     Support secure remote and hybrid work environments through
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
and Cloud PCs.

·     Continuously improve IT processes through scripting, automation, and integration with other systems and tools.
