The Shire of Capel is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to take on the role of Manager Strategic Governance & Risk, leading a skilled team and participating in key strategic projects across the organisation.

Job Description:
As the Manager Strategic Governance & Risk, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight across governance, compliance, risk management, procurement, contracts, leasing and fleet management. You will ensure frameworks and processes are effective, compliant and aligned with the Shire's strategic objectives.

This fixed-term role (up to 12 months parental leave cover, ideally commencing in January 2026) will see you involved in key projects across the business, working closely with elected members, the Executive team and a highly experienced Governance & Risk team in a positive and supportive culture.

You will oversee statutory compliance, risk audits, procurement frameworks and our fleet replacement program.

This role requires attendance once a month at Ordinary Council Meetings, held on the last Wednesday of each month from 6pm.

Knowledge and working experience in Local Government operations, Council meeting (and minutes) processes and tertiary qualifications in Governance or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
