MEDECAN is a leading medical cannabis clinic dedicated to providing safe, effective, and patient-centric care. We specialise in alternative cannabis-based medicinal products (CBMPs) such as capsules, patches, oils, and creams, making treatment more accessible for those who need it most.
We are looking for someone to join our growing team as Patient Support. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking healthcare company, helping patients navigate their medical cannabis journey with confidence and ease.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Support & Enquiries
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and chat enquiries from patients seeking information about medical cannabis treatments.
- Provide clear, professional, and compassionate support, answering questions about appointments, prescriptions, and eligibility requirements.
Patient Triage & Suitability Screening
- Ensuring patients records are prepared prior to initial consultation.
- Filter patient enquiries by conducting preliminary assessments to determine their eligibility for treatment.
- Follow clinic protocols to assess whether a patient meets the medical criteria for a consultation.
- Ensure patients understand the regulatory requirements and that they have a relevant medical condition that qualifies for medical cannabis treatment.
- Escalate complex cases or uncertain eligibility to medical staff for further review.
Appointment Scheduling & Admin Support
- Book initial consultations and follow-up appointments for patients.
- Manage the clinic's diary and scheduling system, ensuring appointments run smoothly.
- Follow up with patients regarding prescription renewals, treatment updates, and general enquiries.
- Invoice generation and processing.
Regulatory & Compliance Adherence
- Ensure all patient interactions comply with medical and legal regulations.
- Accurately document all communications and patient information in our secure system.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR and healthcare compliance guidelines.
Collaboration with Medical & Administrative Teams
- Work closely with doctors, pharmacists, and clinic coordinators to ensure patients receive the right support.
- Assist in coordinating patient referrals, prescription processing, and follow-up calls.
Patient Education & Guidance
- Provide basic information on medical cannabis treatments, different product formats, and the consultation process.
- Offer support to new patients, guiding them through their treatment journey in a professional and empathetic manner.
What We're Looking For
· Excellent communication skills – Ability to engage with patients in a friendly, professional, and reassuring manner.
· Previous call centre, customer service, or healthcare admin experience (preferred but not essential).
· Strong attention to detail – Able to manage multiple tasks while ensuring accuracy in scheduling and documentation.
· Tech-savvy – Comfortable using CRM systems, scheduling software, and telemedicine platforms.
· Empathy and patience – Ability to handle sensitive patient enquiries with care and professionalism.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Understanding of medical cannabis or willingness to learn – Training will be provided.
