About The Role
Ready to lead engineering excellence at one of Europe's largest infrastructure projects? Want to shape the future of nuclear energy and help Britain achieve net zero? At EDF, Success is Personal – and with us, your career journey is yours to shape.
The Opportunity
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E's integrated teams.
As Equipment Engineering Manager, you'll lead the Equipment Integrated Team (ITBE) and oversee the delivery of all design activities for the Hinkley Point C project once transferred to ITB. You'll be responsible for managing detailed design, post-design engineering, and supplier engagement for Nuclear Island Equipment contracts across Units 1 & 2.
You'll join us on a starting salary from £90,000 per annum. Based at #Aztec West with hybrid working options, you'll ensure technical integration, design configuration management, and support through manufacturing, delivery, construction, and commissioning phases. You'll play a key role in maintaining safety, quality, and design maturity while driving performance to meet time and cost targets.
Who You Are
We're looking for an Equipment Engineering Manager who's delivery-focused, collaborative, and confident managing complex technical scopes. Do you offer…
- A proven ability to lead the delivery of safety, quality, schedule, cost, and design maturity targets across equipment contracts.
- Experience managing post-delivery engineering activities and resolving technical issues with a best-for-project mindset.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, acting as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operations across internal and external teams.
- A collaborative approach to working with international teams across France and Germany to coordinate engineering scope.
- Confidence managing risks and opportunities, and reporting progress across a multi-disciplinary integrated team.
- Experience managing budgets of £5–10 million annually, with awareness of project change control processes.
- Leadership experience in building and developing high-performing teams, with a focus on skills growth and resource planning.
- Participation in senior leadership teams, contributing to strategic direction and cross-functional coordination.
What You'll Be Doing
- Bringing senior-level experience in engineering, leadership, and project delivery across complex programmes.
- Applying deep knowledge of EPR design and engineering processes within a Nuclear New Build environment.
- Ensuring compliance with UK regulations, industry standards, and best practices throughout project execution.
- Building strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders across technical and leadership levels.
- Leading in a highly regulated environment, promoting a strong nuclear safety culture and setting exemplary standards.
- Working effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, balancing priorities while maintaining a calm, solutions-focused approach.
- Providing pastoral care and line management support to foster a healthy, engaged team culture
Pay, Benefits And Culture
Alongside a starting salary of £90,000, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.
